“Precise date addition is crucial for contract deadlines, project planning, and personal scheduling. Let our tool handle the complexity.”
How to Add Time to a Date Like a Pro
Adding days, weeks, months, or years to a given date is a common task in project management, contract deadlines, and personal planning. Our calculator makes it simple and precise.
Using the Tool
- Pick a start date (or use today's date).
- Enter the number of days, weeks, months, and years to add.
- Select which weekdays count (e.g., only business days).
- The result date appears instantly with a full breakdown.
How It Works
We convert all inputs into an effective day count using:
- 1 year = 365.25 days (accounting for leap years)
- 1 month = 30.44 days (average month length)
- 1 week = 7 days
Then we add that many days, but only counting the weekdays you selected. For example, adding 7 business days (Monday–Friday) actually moves you 9 calendar days forward.
Real‑World Examples
Project Deadline with Business Days Only
Start: Monday, March 1, 2026. Add 10 business days → tool skips weekends, result is Monday, March 15, 2026 (14 calendar days later).
Adding Months with Leap Year Awareness
Add 1 month to January 31 → result is February 28 (or 29 in a leap year), not March 3.
